In a concerted effort to fortify security measures within the Lake Chad basin, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and the 4th Joint Military Region of the Cameroon Armed Forces have solidified their collaboration. This accord was solidified during a pivotal meeting held at the Headquarters of the 4th Joint Military Region in Maroua, Republic of Cameroon, on April 12, 2024.
Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, the Force Commander of the MNJTF, underscored the imperative of cohesive action and mutual support during his visit. Highlighting the common objectives shared by the MNJTF and national initiatives like Operation Emergence 4, Major General Ali emphasized the symbiotic relationship between their endeavors.
In response, Major General Salou Mahamadou, Commander of the 4th Joint Military Region, commended the MNJTF’s proactive approach in seeking collaboration with national operations. He expressed confidence in the potential of this partnership to engender enhanced cooperation among all stakeholders dedicated to ensuring the security and prosperity of the Lake Chad basin.
General Mahamadou also commended the MNJTF for its substantive contributions towards bolstering security and economic activities within the region. He pledged unwavering support and collaboration, affirming a commitment to joint operations that capitalize on the combined strengths of both entities.
