Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu State Constituency II and also the Chairman of the House Committee on Public-Private Partnership, extends warm season’s greetings to his esteemed constituents as he unveils a comprehensive report detailing his impactful six months in office at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Educational Initiatives:
In an effort to uplift the educational landscape, Hon. Aro collaborated with the Students’ Union body across Ikorodu Constituency II, distributing 50 GCE forms and facilitating the admission of 50 students into universities and model colleges. A thorough research initiative on education in the constituency unveiled critical areas requiring attention. As a response, Hon. Aro commits to sponsoring a minimum of three hundred (300) out-of-school primary school pupils from January 2024.
Vocational Training and Empowerment:
Approximately 60 individuals underwent vocational training programs, culminating in their graduation in December 2023. To further support them, Hon. Aro will provide necessary equipment and offer loans/grants to enable the successful practice of their learned skills.
Public Infrastructure and Electricity Crisis:
Addressing the prolonged power outage affecting Igbopa London Community, Hon. Aro successfully advocated for the establishment of an ad-hoc committee to investigate and provide a permanent solution to the electricity crisis.
Community Development Projects:
Between August and November, Hon. Aro facilitated grading and palliative measures for vital roads in the constituency, including Ire-Agunfoye, Igbogbo, Ijede major road, Igbopa road, Ijede, Abule Eko to ewu owa, Ijede, Ginti-Igbe road, Elepe Community road, Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road, Oreta/Offin road, and Aje Street, Imota.
Economic Empowerment:
Allocating N50 million in November 2023, Hon. Aro supported women with small-scale businesses across Ikorodu Constituency II, fostering economic growth. In the first quarter of 2024, a substantial investment of approximately one billion naira will be allocated to the Fish Hub Project, aimed at generating employment opportunities and addressing fish scarcity in Lagos State.
Employment:
Hon. Aro’s recommendations have already resulted in at least fifteen (15) individuals securing employment opportunities.
