The Nigeria police Force have charged Mr. Aigbogie Philip, Ejemhen Okosun,and some of the members of #TinubuMustGo protest held in Ekpoma Esan West local government area of Edo State to court on the 12th December, 2023.
The leader of the #Tinubumustgo protest Mr Ebhomien Julius Osamudiamen,who has been on the run since 12th December 2023 have been declared wanted by the Authority after a long chase while others whose members and some of the leaders of the protest were charged to Federal High Court in Benin City Edo State.
Mr Ebhomien Julius Osamudiamen, was accused of cybercrime offences in violation of section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention) Act, by “knowingly” sending “messages by means of press interview granted on Megawareness News paper which was known to be false for the purpose of creating abuses, enmity, hatred and ill-will on the person of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
While those who were charged to court were also accused of committing a felony in breach of section, 4(1)(c) of the Criminal Code Act, by using the platform of #TINUBUMUSTGO in December 2023 in Ekpoma, Benin and other parts of Nigeria, to stage the #TINUBUMUSTGO protest allegedly aimed at removing the President.
The charges were filed some days before the expiration of the detention order of the Federal High Court in Benin city permitting the Department of State Service to keep Mr Ebhomien Julius Osamudiamen, the activists and some members of the #TINUBUMUSTGO for more than a month in detention,the Court order elapsed on January 15th.
Mr. EBHOMIEN Julius,who was the PDP presidential agent in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State was arrested by the police after pulling a stop to the continuation of the results allegedly saying the Election was rigged by APC and Inec on 26th 2023.
Now, Ebhomien Julius Osamudiamen has been declared wanted for treason charges by the Tinubu regime and for “conspiracy insulting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ” in 17th August , 2023.
The Federal High Court Benin granted him bail under the conditions of surrendering all his AntiAPC manifestations and agenda and terminating his political activities against the Tinubu regime.
The main opposition party in the country ‘PDP’ have described the declaration of Ebhomien Julius by the police as a script plan by the ruling party to crack down on the opposition party in the country. The party condemned the charge of it members for treason who are the organisers of #Tinubumustgo protest.
Meanwhile the High Court sitting in Ekpoma on 9th of January 2024 have given police the order to arrest and prosecute Ebhomien Destiny, which lead a group of young people and other members of people Democratic Party in March 2023 to destroy Inec office in Ukhun Road Ekpoma and APC Party secretariat.
The protest led to the death of Oziegbe Igho over the arrest of Ebhomien Julius on 26th of February 2023.
