After the National Anthem and Awori Anthem were chanted, respectively, the convener and chairman of the Federation of Awori Students Union, Comrade Anisere Ahmad Adebayo, gave the opening speech. He welcomed the elders and other delegates, and then spoke extensively on the reason for the creation of the association, stating specifically that it is an independent body that is not affiliated with any political party and will never be. The association’s main purpose is to unite all Awori people, protect and respect the interests of the Awori people, Awori students, and the Awori Nation at large, contribute to national development efforts, and build and strengthen unity, facilitate welfare services, create opportunities, protect the dignity, respect, and justice of Awori people, advocate for educational advancements for all Awori students both within and outside of institutions, and try as much as possible to kick against any external and internal attempt to jeopardize Awori land. The association will also work immensely towards the liberation and development of the land at large because the youths are the future of any progressive tribe, state, or nation. Comrade Adebayo also stated that the association is ready to strive for the welfare of Awori students worldwide. He summarized his speech by giving the quote, “Unity is strength, division is weakness.”

Aare (Dr.) Lateef Kehinde gave a speech in which he expressed his happiness with the development of Awori students and prayed for the success of the association. He further emphasized that a lack of leadership was a major cause of the failures of the Awori people in the past. He also spoke about the challenges he faced that prompted him to create the Coalition of Awori in the Diaspora.
Barr. Felix Odunsanya, the chairman of the Awori Think Tank (ATT) committee of Awori Students in tertiary institutions, spoke about the role of the ATT, a body under AWAN, in the progress of the Awori people and Awori students. He stated that the problem of this country is not the leaders but the followers, and that no one should be forced to join the struggle of the Awori people, as it must come from the heart. He also said that we should not let money cause issues among us, as it has in the past. He appreciated the fact that we are no longer in the days when the Awori people were not really educated, as Awori people are getting educated, and there are many intellectuals among us. He finalized by saying that AWAN and ATT are always willing to help.

The chairman of the association, Comrade Anisere Ahmad Adebayo, spoke about the importance of standing our ground on our identity as Awori indigenes and the need for the creation of FASU in all institutions, especially institutions in Awori land. Comrade Babatee started his speech by greeting the house and advising the association to work with other associations instead of trying to compete with them for superiority. He also emphasized the need for mass canvassing.
The guest speaker, Mr. Azeem Salako started his speech by defining the Awori people. He spoke about the Coalition of Aworis in Lagos and Ogun state, the importance of submission to sincerity of purpose, and the need for the association to defend and promote the interests of all Awori students. He also urged the association to show support and solidarity to those who are sympathetic to student unionism.
