A Milestone Unveiled: Igbogbo Kingdom Welcomes State-of-the-Art Nigerian Immigration Service Passport Front Office

In a momentous event, the Igbogbo Kingdom celebrated the official commissioning of the Nigerian Immigration Office Front Office, signaling a new era of convenience for passport applicants and heralding economic opportunities for the region.
The newly unveiled front office is poised to revolutionize the passport application process, promising a reduction in stress for applicants. Residents of Igbogbo and its environs can now look forward to expedited services, marking a significant improvement in accessibility and efficiency.
Beyond its impact on passport services, the development of the new front office is expected to bring substantial economic value to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Lagos State. The improved immigration services are likely to attract increased business activities, promoting economic growth and bolstering the overall development of the region.
Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, the newly appointed Controller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, made history as the first Yoruba citizen to lead the agency. In her address at the commissioning ceremony, Adepoju expressed her appreciation to Mr. President for the trust placed in her capabilities. She also acknowledged the instrumental support of Hon. Babajimi Benson, whose efforts were crucial in bringing the new passport front office to reality.
Adepoju reassured residents and applicants that the NIS is committed to providing services with fairness and transparency, without resorting to extortion. She encouraged potential applicants to leverage the NIS portal for a seamless and efficient registration process.
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, represented by the Honorable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olarenwaju Ibrahim Layode, commended the people of Igbogbo for their continuous support. Layode urged the community to remain steadfast in supporting government initiatives to bring more development to the state.
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the family that generously donated the land for the passport front office. He appealed to the Controller General to consider elevating the front office to a full-fledged passport office, acknowledging the substantial population and economic impact of Igbogbo and the Ikorodu division.

The event was well attended by special dignitaries such as the members of the Lagos State governance advisory council, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Oba Adewale Shotobi (Ayangburen of Ikorodu), Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro (Ranodu of Imota), Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya (Olubeshe of Ibeshe), Oba Badger Aremu Sotonea (Sekunmade of Ipakodo), Hon. Nosimot Adebimpe Akinsola (fmr commissioner for tourism), amongst others.
