In a bid to facilitate a seamless transition of leadership within the Remo Youth Association (RYA), a three-member Electoral Committee was appointed and confirmed during the monthly association meeting held at the Town Hall Ode Remo yesterday.
Presiding over the meeting, Chairman Comrade Yaya Onagbesan called upon the local governments in attendance to nominate one representative each, forming a three-person committee. The nominations yielded Comrade Odugbemi Michael (Remo North), Comrade Babafemi Adenuga (Sagamu), and Comrade SIWAJUOLA ELIJAH (Ikenne).
Following the established norm, the nominee from Ikenne Local Government, Comrade SIWAJUOLA ELIJAH, automatically assumed the role of Chairman of the Electoral Committee.
The Committee was subsequently inaugurated and entrusted with the responsibility of formulating guidelines to ensure a smooth electoral process for the installation of the new executive members.
Further decisions await the committee’s agreement on the appointments of a secretary and public relations officer (PRO) to support their efforts in overseeing the electoral procedures.
