• REMO YOUTH ASSOCIATION: IN COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2022; THEMED INTERGENERATIONAL SOLIDARITY: CREATING A WORLD FOR ALL AGES
His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, BL, LL.M, FCA, FBR, Torungbuwa II, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Remo Traditional Council, Political office holder, Youth Leaders, Community Youth Associations, Artisans, Religious organizations and all other stakeholders of our dear Remo land.
International Youth Day is celebrated on 12 August every year to mark the contribution of youth to the development of the society. This day is also commemorated to raise awareness about the problems faced by young people around the globe, including issues related to health, justice, employment and political participation.
The theme of International Youth Day 2022 is “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages”. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the world needs to leverage the full potential of all generations. Solidarity across generations is key to sustainable development.
This theme amplifies the message that further action is needed to create a better and more sustainable future for all. To achieve this, people of all generations need to come together and work. Remo to be precise (in this context)
We must collaborate to foster successful and equitable intergenerational relations and partnerships to ensure “no one is left behind.” While intergenerational solidarity and concern for future generations is being called for in tackling global issues.
Highlighting this, some key factors that enhance creating a world for all ages is tied to UNITY, ACCEPTABILITY, PEACE and COMMON GOAL.
May I also use this medium to appeal to all Remo Youths either by birth or residence irrespective of our religion, political class, gender or location to all come together as one BODY so as to create an enabling environment for ourselves and generations to come.
We must at all time be ready to take responsibility for youthful activities which on a long run enhance socio economic growth and development. This if we can do will truly create a SOLIDARITY for all ages.
I also want to create an indulgence to our teaming youth to shun socio violence most especially as we are looking up to electioneering year. We must not be use as tools for election malpractices and violence.
We must as well create a model for mentorship. This we can possibly do if we encourage our young ones and preparing them for future tasks. The future is as well NOW.
In conclusion, may I also reiterate that Remo is our home and we must do all to guide, protect and build it in order to match up the global standard.
Together we make a difference.
Thank you and God bless you.
