The Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) has begun the second phase of repairs on Zion Plaza-Olusoji Avenue, linking Alao-Akala Expressway in Ibadan.
OYSROMA will also address drainage issues in the areas designated for repairs.
According to Mr. Busoye Ogunlade, Chairman of OYSROMA, the first phase of the repair of Zion Plaza-Olusoji Avenue, linking Alao-Akala Expressway, was executed in June 2024.
Ogunlade stated that the new repairs will provide relief to residents and commuters.
The Chairman emphasized that desilting work has commenced on the drainage to alleviate traffic gridlock and improve conditions for road users.
“We desilted the existing drains on that road and repaired the damaged portions,” he added.
“We aim for an Oyo State with zero potholes, achieving smooth roads that will support our socio-economic development,” Ogunlade said.
He also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his prompt approval of the road repairs, noting that the agency initiated the second phase due to the road’s deplorable condition.
According to Ogunlade, the repairs will positively impact businesses and transportation in the area.
“Governor Seyi Makinde listens to the cries of the masses. We have assessed several roads in poor condition and are initiating a massive repair campaign across the State. Currently, our team is working on the second phase of Zion Plaza-Olusoji Avenue, linking Alao-Akala Expressway,” he said.
