Oriwu Club Ikorodu celebrated a significant milestone on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with its highly anticipated induction ceremony at the Somi Jaiyesimi Hall. The event, presided over by Prince Ganiu Adegboyega Oluwole, the club’s President, saw the induction of 18 new members, highlighting the club’s ongoing commitment to recognizing distinguished individuals from various sectors.
In his address, Prince Oluwole underscored the club’s rich history and values. Founded in 1973, Oriwu Club Ikorodu recently marked its 50th anniversary. The club, initially established by 23 eminent figures, has since grown to nearly 150 members.
Prince Oluwole emphasized the club’s rigorous induction process and its dedication to professionalism, excellence, and non-political engagement, reflecting its role in fostering community and professional standards.
Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Vice President of the Oriwu Club Ikorodu, extended his congratulations to the 18 new members recently inducted into the club. He urged them to uphold the club’s principles and remain dedicated to its mission of community service. Olusanya highlighted the club’s dedication to the development and betterment of the community and encouraged the new members to fully engage with the club’s initiatives to make a significant impact in the lives of local residents.
He also praised the inductees for their accomplishments, noting that their induction reflects their commitment and excellence. Olusanya expressed enthusiasm about their future contributions, stating, “We welcome you warmly into our ranks and look forward to collaborating with you to foster a stronger, more vibrant community.”
Among the notable inductees were HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo kingdom, and Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA.
The ceremony also recognized Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe LG; Mr. Kamar Owodiran Olowoshago, the Permanent Secretary of Land Bureau in the Lagos State Governor’s Office, and Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, a financial consultant, politician and real estate expert.
Among the new inductees are TPL Hakeem Adebayo Animashaun, Mr. Femi Adekoya Olukotun, Dr. Oluwaseun Temitayo Jayesimi, Alhaji Korede Shamsideen B. Kamoru, and Mr. Demola Adesina Shitta.
Also inducted include Mr. Kamoru Adeyemi Olutosin, Dr. Ismail Adesanya, Arc. Alaba Ogunsanya, Mr. Aderemi Amokomowo, Mr. Omotayo Babatunde Moshood, Mr. Olakitan Victor Odusanya, and Dr. Fatai Olateju Sonoki.

Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, the club’s social secretary, highlighted the institution’s dedication to enhancing the Ikorodu division and supporting its professional members. He also noted his father’s influential role as a founding member of Oriwu Club Ikorodu, which inspired his own contributions to society.
The ceremony was attended by several esteemed guests, including Royal Fathers such as Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, who represented Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and Oba (Engr) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, FNSE, the Sekumade of Ipakodo.
Other notable attendees included Hon. Jimi Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, and various dignitaries, reflecting the event’s broad significance and impact.
