…..Urge Youth leaders to lead with dignified integrity and transparent honesty; Encourage enrollment in Ogun Health Insurance Scheme
The State leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State ably led by Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe on Tuesday, 16th May 2023 received in the audience, the new executive of the Nawairudeen Society of Nigeria, Ogun Zone Youth Wing at the Ogun Youth House, the State Secretariat of the Youth Council, MKO International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In his remarks, the Ogun Zone Chairman of Nawairudeen Youth, Com. Quadri Owolabi lauded the “leadership of NYCN for quality coordination and administration of the youth constituency in the State that is bearing satisfactory fruits for youth development in the State”. He noted that the purpose of the visit was for “familiarization of the new leadership of the youth group to the youth coordinating and umbrella body for reciprocal benefits of the organization, its large chain of membership and the State”. He thanked the State Chairman for “his inspiring, all-inclusive leadership and support to the Organization and its youth fold at all times. He assured the Youth leadership of “their unwavering loyalty and support at all times as he acknowledged several youth innovative and intervention programs of the Ayelaagbe-led administration and prayed for more divine grace for the ninth State Executive Council to continue to surpass positive expectations in their leadership of the youth of the State as he requested the State Chairman to always “consider Nawairudeen Youth, being one of the largest youth blocs in the State in slots in transition processes, subvention, and various opportunities in the State”.
Responding, the State Youth Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe thank the leadership of the youth body for the visit and support thus far. His words “I, on behalf of the State youth leadership express our sincere gratitude to Nawairudeen youth leadership for the visit and renewal spirits of the youth body exemplary leadership among the comity of youth organizations in the State. It is very important to also thank the organization for the Excellent Leadership Award bestowed on me last year ending and, once again, apologize for my bodily absence at the programme due to other State assignments outside the country”. Com. Ayelaagbe charged them to be more affectionate to training the youngsters and be worthy models in the face of unethical behaviors among young people nowadays
“Youth leadership is becoming more challenging these days owing to the resurgence of anti-social norms among the youngsters, we hold it a responsibility as leaders to lead with dignified integrity and transparent honesty and be worthy models for them. We should also intensify our sensitization programs to discourage them from egregious and horrible attitudes and acts that can destroy their lives or threaten the State peaceful coexistence.”
On the transition processes, The Chairman informed the guests that qualified organizations can vie for offices at all levels of the Council “While not dissuading interested members to vie for whichever offices they may desire at State levels, Organisations that meet requisite constitutional requirements can also sponsor vibrant and service-oriented young people to also vie for offices at local government and Ward levels too. By the records of the Council, aside from the State level, elective Congress is also due to be held before December 2023 in Ijebu North East, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, Odeda, Abeokuta South, Ikenne, Odogbolu, and Ewekoro local governments while many others come before mid-2024”. Com. Ayelaagbe concluded by urging youth leaders to sensitize their members on the benefits of the Health insurance scheme of the Ogun State Government and encourage them to enroll to lessen the financial burden of accessing quality Medical services.
Earlier, in his contribution, the State Secretary of the Youth Council, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi “commended Nawairudeen Youth Wing leadership for being outstanding in the prompt submission of their monthly reports. He urged the leadership to sustain the legacy as there are rewards for every good action.
