Ogun Youth Leadership Hosts Police Community Relations Committee Youth Wing

The State leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State on 30th May 2023 received, in the audience, the new executive of the Youth Wing of Ogun State Command of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) at Ogun Youth House, MKO Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The youth group ably led by its State Youth Coordinator, Comrade Adeniyi Amusa (Awikonko) remarked that the visit was “to familiarize the new executive of the body to the State Youth leadership amidst requests of necessary support”. He “acknowledged the several youth intervention programmes of the youth leadership and prayed for more divine grace for the ninth State Executive Council to continue to surpass positive expectations in the leadership of the youth of the State”. Contributing to the discussions, the State Vice Chairman of the body, Hon. Adeniyi Adenekan requested “more empowerment support for the PCRC youth wing; support for affiliation of its Area Commands structures in the LGA”, among others.

In his remarks, the State Youth Council Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe eulogies the resilience and inspiring contributions of PCRC Ogun State in stemming the tides of crimes and criminalities in the State. He commended the choice of Com. Awikonko as the new youth coordinator whose years of youth work experience in the Community Development Committees and recently as Special Assistant to the State PCRC Chairman on Youth will spur the body to excellent task delivery”. He takes the delegation through the LGA affiliation processes and assured them of the necessary assistance to make it seamless. The Chairman reiterates his administration’s commitment to inclusiveness in all matters and as such assured the delegation of the continuous support of the State youth leadership to the Organization in available opportunities. The Chairman concluded by urging the delegation to be a satisfactory model for teeming young people to have a crime-free society we can proudly call our own.

Earlier, Members of the State Executive of the Youth Council in attendance took turns to charge the new executive of the organization to be good models and diligent in their operations.

The State Secretary of the Youth Council Com. Akolawole Shoremi, the State Financial Secretary, Com. Aderemi Ilori, the State Auditor, Com. Oyegunle Omowale, the State Organizing Secretary (Ogun Central), Com. Taiwo Olumayowa were among the State Youth Council executive in attendance at the meeting.
