Jimi Lawal, the embattled factional gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State has reacted to a publication by one, Revd. Olusola Salau.
According to Jimi Lawal, he asked God to judge Revd. Olusola Salau, and others for spreading false and malicious information about him.
According to the publication by Revd. Olusola Salau, he described Jimi Lawal has a mole in Ogun PDP.
Revd. Salau statement reads, “Jimi Lawal is never a lover of Ogun State PDP as we all can see what Hon Segun Showunmi is doing presently even though he is aggrieved even though he is contesting for the post of Governorship in Ogun State PDP he still keeps going around making peace and telling others that are aggrieved to put the interest of the party first in their hearts as priority to enable Ogun State PDP rule as the Electorates are all dreaming of.
“I personally met Hon. Segun Showunmi many times in this struggle and I can read his mind clearly. He believes politics is not a do or die affairs and that should be the normal thinking of any nationalist Politician who truly loves his party like Hon Segun Showunmi use to do.”
“See what happened in Lagos State PDP between Hon Wale Gomez and the present PDP Governorship candidate, of course that is politics of not a do or die affairs. Honestly both of them are now seriously working together to win Lagos State for PDP, Rev Olusola Salau said.
“I told Hon Segun Showunmi many times that I personally met him that I personally want him at the National as the spokesman of PDP nationwide because when he speaks to the Nigeria audience they listen but as per state level my readers I think it belittle him compare to his popularity at the National level. But the interest in Governorship is his personal dream even at that he promises to work together with whoever wears the cap as the governorship candidate at the end of the struggles.”
“Lagos PDP is doing okay, Osun PDP is great, Ogun State should be great and I pray sincerely for Ondo PDP and Oyo to do what are right so as to make the coming elections in these two state a PDP rise to Glory.”
“No matter what’s happening, I know Governor Wike and his other colleagues would soon come on board of our National campaign for His Excellency Atiku Abubakar by His grace, he said.
Reacting to the publication on a WhatsApp group “Ogun People’s Parliament”, Otunba Jimi Lawal said, “I don’t usually get to see or respond directly to fake and malicious publications of this nature and it would have been ignored but for the fact that the author described himself as a Reverend!
“In the circumstance, if the allegation of my being a mole in PDP being peddled by the Reverend and others like him is true, may the Almighty God punish me severely. But if the allegation is false, may the Almighty God punish the Reverend and all those behind the fake news. Reverend Salau, Sulaimon Okikiola and others like them are invited to please join me in saying a resounding Amen to the prayer! – JAL”
