Ahead of the Ogun State Local Government Council election in 2024, Hon. Olanrewaju Oyemade has declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship position of Sagamu Local Government Council on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oyemade made his interest known via his declaration on Friday, August 16, 2024, when he held a meeting with all the leaders, elders, and executives of the party at the Party Secretariat on Ewusi Road, Sagamu.
In declaring his interest, Oyemade promised not to disappoint the people if given the opportunity to serve.
While unveiling his agenda, which focuses on infrastructure and community development, human capital development, agriculture, road maintenance, justice, peace and security, environmental protection, sanitation, and party unity/oneness, he called for the support of all to help him come out strong and victorious.
He promised to prudently use the council’s resources to initiate people-oriented projects and programs that will benefit the community and attract state developmental agencies, federal government schemes, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), which he said will bring development and investment to the Local Government Area.
In response, the Party Chairman, Pa. Rafiu Opaleye, commended Hon. Oyemade for the steps taken and urged him to continue his consultations widely with other leaders and party chieftains while offering words of prayer.
Other top party chieftains in attendance included the Sagamu APC Women and Youth Leader, ward chairmen from Ward 1 to 15, the Secretary, Youth Leader, women, and all the working committee members.
