The Ogun State House of Assembly will hold a public hearing on Thursday, 5th September 2024, regarding a bill aimed at improving electricity generation, transmission, and distribution within the state. The bill also seeks to establish an electricity market and key power sector bodies, enforce consumer rights and obligations, and address related issues.
According to a release from the Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, the stakeholders’ forum on Bill No. H.B.017/OG/2024, titled “Ogun State Power Sector Law,” is intended to gather input from all relevant stakeholders. The goal is to develop a comprehensive bill that will enhance electricity services and integrate rural areas, ensuring they receive necessary amenities.
The release further stated that the forum will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with all invited guests requested to be seated by 9:30 a.m.
