It is becoming clearer that the ADC of Ogun State is the favourite party of the people as her popularity had exponentially increased and spread in the state in the last three weeks.
Ahead of the gubernatorial polls on Saturday, 18th March, 2023, no fewer than 2000 party members of both the ruling and opposition party, APC and PDP respectively have dumped their parties for the African Democratic Party, ADC in Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Waterside of Ogun State.
These decampees were received into the party at the Ogun Waterside, the hometown of the deputy governorship candidate of the ADC, Alhaji Olatunde Awonuga.
Some of the new members of the ADC said they decamped because of the excessively elitist nature of their former party’s governorship candidate as well as their inaccessibility to common citizens. Some others accused the PDP candidate, Adebutu Lado of being too arrogant and deceitful with his claims.
Whilst receiving the decampees, Alhaji Olatunde Awonuga, the ADC’s deputy governorship candidate praised their courage and conviction and assured them that they will be treated equally just as other members of the party. While addressing the decampees, he also affirmed that only the ADC, under the leadership of HE, Biyi Otegbeye can ensure the desired development in all sectors of the state when elected.
