OGHA Re-Invites 17 Individuals Over Alleged Illegal Sales of Housing Corporation Land, Land Grabbing

The Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Lands and Housing led by Hon. Damilola Soneye, has re-invited some individuals allegedly involved in the illegal sale of lands belonging to the State Housing Corporation at the Ibido Community Area, Sagamu Estate, in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.

The House Committee issued the invitation following the failure of a group of eight individuals involved in the alleged illegal sale of Corporation lands to honour two earlier invitations extended to them.

Those named in the petition by the Corporation include Mr. Emmanuel Osho, Mr. Folabi Osho, Mr. Moshood Lawal Keji, Mr. Owodunni Sodipo, Mr. Adeyiga Jeje Lambo, Mr. Abiodun Soneye, Mr. Tikare, and Mr. Hammed Sodipe.

The House Committee warned that if the individuals fail to appear before the Assembly on Thursday, 26th June, at 12:00 noon, the State House of Assembly would not hesitate to issue a warrant for their arrest to compel their attendance in line with Section 129 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The House Committee also invited another group of nine individuals allegedly involved in land grabbing activities—known locally as Omo Oniles—who were said to be encroaching on the Housing Corporation’s Itanrin Estate in Ijebu-Ode.

According to the Committee, the individuals involved include Mr. Sikiru Shittu Onakoya, Mr. Ismail Onakoya, Mr. Azeez Shittu Onakoya, Mr. Tunde Onakoya, Alhaji Olukorede Baoku, Mr. Adeleke Yekeen Abu, Alhaji Ikililu Alawiye, Chief Akeem Abajo, and Mr. Adegunwa Kunle Oluwatosin. They are to appear before the Assembly Committee to respond to allegations of illegal encroachment on the Corporation’s land at Itanrin Estate, Ijebu-Ode, on Thursday, 26th June 2025, at 1:00 p.m. prompt.

The Committee further warned that failure of these individuals to appear would prompt the House of Assembly to invoke the relevant section of the Constitution to issue a warrant of arrest to compel their attendance before the State Legislature.
