…Youth Council Launches ‘No Gree for Them in 2024’ Campaign with Fitness Awareness Walk
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) branch in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has issued a resolute call to the youth, urging them to reject cultism and drug abuse in the year 2024.
Employing the popular slogan ‘No gree for them in 2024,’ the NYCN seeks to dissuade the youth from engaging in social vices that could have severe repercussions for both individuals and society. The Coordinator of NYCN, Ikorodu West LCDA, Comrade Asoro Olatunji Abubakri announced the initiation of a ‘Fitness Awareness Walk Against Cultism and Drug Abuse’ as part of the ongoing campaign against these detrimental behaviors.
Scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2024, the walk will commence promptly at 7 am from Sekumade Palace, Ipakodo. Notably, the Chairman of the Council, Otunba (Hon.) Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, FCA, FCTI, will lead the event.
“In our commitment to dissuade the youth of Ikorodu West from social vices, particularly CULTISM and DRUG ABUSE, our team will embark on a FITNESS AWARENESS WALK AGAINST CULTISM AND DRUG ABUSE,” stated the Coordinator.
The Executive Chairman, Otunba Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, FCA, FCTI, emphasized, “In 2024, we do not accept cultism and drug abuse in our communities.”
The organizers have revealed that the walk will include fitness exercises, music, dance, and refreshments as they aim to promote a healthier lifestyle while discouraging harmful societal behaviors.
