
A non-profit organisation based in Ogun state, Oladipupo Foundation for Sickle Cell has commended the current administration in the state for providing as an enabling environment for social welfare to thrive.
The foundation, a support group for persons living with Sickle Cell anaemia, said the government had shown commitment to the welfare of her citizens.
Founder of the Oladipupo Foundation for Sickle Cell, Dotun Oladipupo, disclosed this while addressing the press at the Foundation’s December Outreach for persons living with Sickle Cell in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
As part of the outreach, the foundation donated food items as well as medications to persons living with Sickle cell disease.
The foundation also paid visits to warriors currently on hospital beds across the state.
Meanwhile, Oladipupo who is also a Sickle Cell Warrior particularly lauded the efforts of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Sports, Comrade Lamide Lawal for his instrumental role in the eventual success of the foundation’s outreach.
According to him, Comrade Lawal’s efforts were reflective of the Governor’s commitment to helping the needy and physically disadvantaged persons in the state.
He however pledged that the foundation would stay true to helping Sickle Cell warriors, regardless of the challenges of doing same.
Oladipupo also called on the state government for more support and intervention in raising the hopes of persons living with the sickle cell disease.
