The Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) is set to hold the grand kick-off ceremony of its implementation in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area on Tuesday, 18th November 2025, at the Awujale Interregnum, Awujale ‘s Palace, Ijebu Ode as part of its renewed efforts towards strengthening women’s economic empowerment and inclusive development.
A release signed by the State Project Coordinator, Mrs. Bolanle Fadairo, indicated that the the ceremony, which would have the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, who doubles as the Chairman, Multi-Sectoral Coordination Structure (MCS) of the project, would convene the 420 Ward Facilitators drawn from Ifo, Ado-Odo/Ota, Sagamu, and Ijebu Ode LGAs, who form the backbone of the grassroots implementation of the project, adding that the event would witness the presence of traditional rulers, Olorituns, representatives of religious organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders from the informal sector, highlighting the wide-reaching community support and collaboration that underpins the project.
The release added that the NFWP-SU, a non-political platform aimed to mobilize women into Women Affinity Groups (WAGs), providing them with access to financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, and income-generating opportunities, providing them with recognized platforms, and support to achieve economic empowerment and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The release enjoined public, especially all interested women, to be seated by 9:00am.
