Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is with immense joy that I on behalf of the Distinguished Ladies in Politics (D-LiPs), extend my warmest congratulations to you on your election as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This remarkable achievement is a testament to your leadership qualities and the trust the Nigerian people have placed in you owing to your foresight, visionary leadership and exceptional contributions towards a metropolitan Lagos that continues to advance on a quantum leap basis.
D-LiPs is an organization dedicated to empowering women and promoting their active participation in the Nigeria political landscape. We are proud to have identified with you in the course of your journey to the presidency and our contributions in galvanizing young Nigerian women across the country towards your emergence as President is a thing of immense satisfaction that we are overtly and overly proud to avow at any given time. By so doing, we firmly believe that the role of young women in politics is of utmost importance. Their fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and unwavering determination bring a much-needed dynamism to the decision-making process.
While acknowledging the valuable contributions of aged women who are mostly above 50 years, we urge you, Mr. President, to also consider the inclusion of young women below that age range in the composition of your cabinet. Their voices deserve to be heard, their talents deserve to be utilized, and their aspirations too deserve to be nurtured. By ensuring their representation, you will not only empower young women but also create a more inclusive and diverse government that truly represents the Nigerian population and its demography.
Furthermore, as you strive to prioritize the youth in politics in your administration, we implore you to extend this consideration to young women who are also youths. Their inclusion will not only amplify the voices of young people but also harness the immense potential they possess to contribute their quota to nation building. By providing them with opportunities and platforms, you will empower a generation of female leaders who will in turn shape the future of our great nation.
In closing, Mr. President, D-lips wishes you great success in your administration. May your tenure be marked by progress, prosperity, and peace for the Nigerian people. We will continue to pledge our support for your administration and remain steadfast in collaborating with stakeholders in advancing the cause of women in politics and creating a brighter future for all.
