The proposed Iperu Mini Stadium has received a significant boost as the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority announces an invitation for Expressions of Interest from experienced, qualified, and competent contractors.
The invitation was made known by the authority on Monday, 16th September 2024, via publication in the national dailies. The project, which falls under the 2024 Supplementary Appropriation Act of the River Basin Authority, is being carried out in furtherance of the parastatal’s statutory mandate and in accordance with the provisions of Section 25 of the Public Procurement Act 2007.
The Mini Stadium project is categorized under the building projects as follows:
- Lot D29A – Construction of Mini Sports Arena, Iperu, Ikenne LGA, Ogun State, and
- Lot D29B – Construction of Roads and other basic amenities at the Mini Sports Stadium, Iperu, Ikenne LGA, Ogun State.
Similarly, invitations for tenders for the construction of a dam, irrigation, and greenhouses for Iperu were also included in the publication.
It will be recalled that the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Authority, Engr. Deji Ashiru, FNSE, during his visit to the Alaperu some weeks ago, announced the approval of the above-listed projects for Iperu, and promised a completion timeline of six months for the stadium project.
Reacting to the latest development, the Chairman of the Iperu Mini Stadium Project Committee, Otunba Denny Ibrahim Oladipupo, who was filled with joy, commended Engr. Ashiru and his team for their proactiveness. He also thanked the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo (Odoru V), for his immense support to the committee, and appreciated members of the committee for their dedication and commitment.
