The Iperu Indigenes Forum, under the auspices of the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, has felicitates an illustrious indigene of the town, Lion Dr. Folasade SHOTOMIDE, PMJF, NLCF, on her public presentation and formal installation as the District Governor of Lions Club, District 404A3, Nigeria.
The forum in its congratulatory message, jointly signed by the Convener, Prince Ladi OLABINJO; and Administrators, High Chief Barr. Ifasola Saheed OPEODU, the Oluwo of IPERU; Otunba Adebayo SALAMI; and Tope OYEKAN; felicitates Lion SHOTOMIDE on the epoch-making event holding today, Saturday, 27th July, 2024.
The forum describes Lion SHOTOMIDE’s election as the District Governor as well-deserved judging by her outstanding achievements and the exemplary leadership she had displayed in the Lions family.
These quality antecedents of Lion SHOTOMIDE, includes among others, her sterling performance as the President of the Lagos Achievers Lions Club, and as the Lions Quest Chairperson.
Also worthy of note is her commitment to learning and leadership development, through her participation at various human capacity development programmes of the club, both at home and abroad, and most importantly, her dedication to service, as reflected in her people-oriented achievements and initiatives meant at giving back to humanity.
The forum in the message proudly expressed its joy on her elevation, and wished her a successful tenure as she formally assumed the office of the District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 404A3, Nigeria.
“On your formal installation and assumption of office as the District Governor, we are very proud of your achievements, and we wish you a successful tenure, as you lead the great district towards a new Lion Service Year, making a mark, via excellence in service”, said the forum.
Born at Lagos State on the 26th of March, 1970, into the family of Chief Mukaila Aremu Shotomide and Mrs. Olu Shotomide (Nee Agbato), the new District Governor holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Lagos State University, and a Masters in Education (Guidance and Counselling from the University of Calabar.
Lion Dr. Folasade SHOTOMIDE was also conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in Transformational Leadership by the Shama WordBased University, Nigeria; an affiliate of the WAYNE Park University, California, USA.
She had her early education at the Lagos Anglican Girls Primary School, and Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School, both in Surulere, Lagos.
An entrepreneur with over 34 years of teaching experience in private schools, Lion SHOTOMIDE is the proprietor of The Right Choice School, and His Grace Educational Services, both in Ogun State, Nigeria. Her professional career encompasses classroom teaching from K-12 to training teachers and workers for optimal performance and counselling. She currently serves as the Director of Academics at The Right Choice School, where her responsibilities include curriculum evaluation and classroom performance monitoring. In addition, at His Grace Educational Services, she organizes excursions and tours and consults for school proprietors and SMEs.
Lion Dr. Folasade SHOTOMIDE joined Lions Clubs International in 2005, having been sponsored by Lion Obo EFFANGA, PMJF, whom she met at the All African Conference in Ota, Ogun State; and has since then been committed to the ideals of Lions Club, and has relentlessly pursued the same. She served as President of Lagos Achievers Lions Club during the 2008/2009 Lions Service Year, and has held various leadership positions within the organization, including Lions Quest Chairperson.
Her commitment to continuous learning and leadership development is evident through her participation in several esteemed programmes, among which are;

Lion Dr. SHOTOMIDE, is a recipient of numerous appreciation awards within her club and district. She is a proud member of the Nigerian Lions Charity Foundation (NLCF) and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (PMJF).
Her dedication to service is reflected in her numerous achievements and initiatives, including;
- Donating a furnished and equipped library to Boys’ Correctional Home, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, in 2009 as Lagos Achievers Lions Club President.
- Mobilizing clubs under her zone to provide free healthcare services to residents of Ebute-Metta, Oyingbo, Lagos, in 2013.
- Leading clubs under her region in the “Feed the Hungry” initiative, serving over 100 blind individuals at the Blind People Home, Oyingbo, and distributing uncooked foodstuffs to over 100 individuals at Obalende, Lagos.
- Training teachers on Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence.
Her extensive involvement in community development activities earned her an invitation to vie for the position of Vice Chairman of The Light Community Development Association (CDA), Olajumoke; and an appointment as the Chairman of the Welfare Committee of Ifesowapo/Odubaale/Onibudo Area Community Development Council (CDC), in Akute, Ogun State.
