As the clock ticks down to 2024, Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, is urging Nigerians to embrace love and tolerance as the nation prepares for the New Year.
In a message issued by the Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday in Abuja, the IGP emphasized the importance of these values in fostering peace and unity across the diverse landscape of Nigeria.
“In these times, it is crucial that we remember the strength that lies in our collective spirit,” said Dr. Egbetokun. “By strengthening the bonds that unite us and embracing understanding between different groups, we can overcome any obstacle and build a more harmonious society for all.”
The IGP commended Nigerians for their resilience in the face of challenges and underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. He called on the public to continue their collaboration with the police and other security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity that could threaten peace and well-being.
“Let us embark on this new year with a spirit of compassion, understanding, and cooperation,” Dr. Egbetokun concluded. “Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves, our families, and our great nation.”
The Inspector-General of Police wishes all Nigerians a happy, prosperous, and fulfilling New Year.
