Frankly speaking, do you think North is willing to relinquish power to an Igboman? I don’t think so!
The North is afeared of the East just like children are fearful of snakes. Igbo man won’t be president outside restructuring or separation. This is because a typical Igboman has his own mind, voice, thoughts and all his constituents belong to him and at his disposal.
This is not so about their Yoruba counterpart. His mind, voice, thoughts are only his when money, power and fame are not involved!
The North want power! They are not interested in unity, pedigree, education, honesty, religion and oneness. As far as they have power, they are good. In Nigeria, all powers belong to the North and not God!
Yesterday, I watched Tinubu’s visit to Yobe State. I could see how he struggled to make them support him on his life-long ambition. That’s how all Southerners are begging them. They are now spellbinding with brains of the Southern politicians. Yet, they are not willing to release power to them.
Ironically, in Nigeria of 2022, the only Sourtherner equal to the North in-terms of wit, grit, wealth, cunningness, bravery is Ahmed Tinubu.
Take Tinubu out of the chess, no one in the South to question the powers of the North. Is this the reason they are preventing his emergence as president?
Perhaps, even if they think of power-shift, the East is not in the equation. South-Easterners are the red-line the North won’t like to cross. The north would only shift such powers to an Hausa/Fulani found in a Yorubaman. They want the Federal Republic of Northern Nigeria to continue.
In the past, we have had Obasanjo, Shonekan and Jonathan representing this group. Can anyone remind me of their immediate contribution to the Yorubas or Ijaws?
Meanwhile, tell me any northerner that ever ruled this nation, and you won’t see his footprints, fingerprint and palm-print anywhere in the north or his hometown.
Look at President Buhari, he’s busy developing Daura and even his ancestral village in Niger by constructing 284km rail line to Niger Republic. Look at how many infrastructures already commissioned in Daura within 7 years. That’s the North for you. That’s power!
So, if the east really want to govern Nigeria, they should support restructuring or Separation. It won’t take time before Eastern politician realizes they are only being used by the Northern elements against their people.
Just like Buhari is currently dividing the Southwest and using the likes of Osinbajo, Fayemi, Amosu against Tinubu. Well, I am not surprised, money, fame, position and recognition are what the Yorubas care about!
If Nigeria remains Nigeria, it would be Hausa/Fulani and Hausa/Fulani in a Southerner. But I know of a truth, that Hausa/Fulani man cannot be found in an Easterner. The north cannot trust anyone from the east. Simply because of the points mentioned earlier.
We live in Federal Republic of Northern Nigeria. Fight or kill yourself, the north would make the decision when ready.
