Gbuyi (Omoba) Yinka Okunoren –
Egbe Degbuyi Remo, a foremost socio-cultural and traditional age-grade group in Remoland has felicitated the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi CFR (Torungbuwa II), on his two-in-one celebration of 60th birthday and 5th coronation anniversary as the leading monarch in Remoland.
The group rejoiced with the traditional ruler on the two events which they described as milestones, judging by the landmark and monumental achievements recorded in the life of the monarch in the last sixty years, and in his reign as the Akarigbo, in the last five years.
In the congratulatory message dated 25th November, 2022, and jointly signed by the Giwa Egbe, Gbuyi Alaba Ogunsola, and General Secretary, Gbuyi Tope Oyekan, the monarch was commended for his brilliant exploits as a foremost chartered accountant, world-acclaimed insolvency expert, and a notable legal luminary; and his uncommon leadership charisma, which he has brought to bear as the Akarigbo, and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, and President of Remo Traditional Council, These according to the group has placed him as an outstanding personality in his professional calling, and among the comity of Obas.
The monarch’s rare humility and unassuming spirit was also acknowledged and commended by the group. Oba Ajayi who is the Grand Patron of Egbe Degbuyi Remo, was particularly commended for his love and positive disposition towards the group as openly displayed and publicly exhibited during the group’s homage to his palace in December 2021, and his presence with some brother Remo Obas at its launching and inauguration held in february 2022.
Most importantly, the monarch’s effort at making Remo, a united and a prosperous land was equally acknowledged and commended.
The group in the message rejoiced with the celebrant, while prayers were also offered for a more glorious and healthy living, and a peaceful and progressive reign.
“Your Royal Majesty, we are happy and glad to share in the joy of these epoch-making events, as we wish you a very happy birthday, with many happy returns for a longer and healthy life, and a more peaceful, progressive, and prosperous reign.
Under your watch, Remoland shall continue to wax stronger, attract more unprecedented developments, and record more monumental growth,” the message concluded.
Meanwhile, the group will on wednesday, joined other groups, clubs, societies, and associations, to pay homage to Oba Ajayi at his Ita Oba palace, Sagamu, and also celebrate with him at the social event slated to hold at the Remo Methodist Theological College grounds, Sagamu, on same day; and subsequently at the celebration luncheon/grand-finale holding at the Akarigbo palace, on Sunday, 11th December, 2022.
