….Honoured with Merit Award for his services
The State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe on Thursday, 3rd August 2023 delivered the Annual Women and Youth Seminar lecture of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State command tagged Our Youth, Our Future, Our Roles held at POWA hall, State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
In attendance at the lecture are, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Mustapha Alamutu, National Chairman, PCRC, High Chief Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, State Chairman of PCRC, Arch. Samson Popoola, Immediate past SA to Ogun State Governor on Youth and Sports and a Guest Speaker, Com. Olamide Lawal, SP Omolola Odutola, PPRO Ogun State and a Guest Speaker, National, and State functionaries, State officials of NYCN, Com. Bunmi Ajibola, State Social Director, State Organizing Secretary (Ogun Central), Com. Taiwo Olumayowa, NYCN LGA Coordinators for Abeokuta North, Odeda and Remo North LGA, Com. Emmanuel Ojo, Com. Amuda Tajudeen and Com. Olokodana Christopher respectively, Special Assistant to State Chairman on Special Duties, Com. Faruq Tella, PCRC National and State officials, Head of Youth Organizations, Youth stakeholders, among many others.
In his lecture, Ogun Youth helmsman noted “The future is the canvas on which our youth’s hopes will be painted. What we seed today will be reaped tomorrow. Every decision we make, every chance we offer, and every assistance we provide will have an impact on the world they inherit. We must provide our young one’s with the necessary tools, knowledge, and values to face the problems of the future.”
He charged critical stakeholders “Parents, Educators, Community leaders, Political leaders, security agencies, Youth leaders, and Youth organizations, as first instructors, the guiding lights, and the pillars of support for the children/youth, the knowledge architects, sculpting the society and intellectual environment of young brains have a tremendous impact on the fabric of young development. They wield the paintbrush that may either enrich or devastate the canvas of young lives. Their functions in determining the trajectory of the youth are essential and far-reaching as guardians of the nation’s fate.”
He charged Individual youth to “ensure they are diligent, patriotic, trainable, trustworthy, responsible, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, and loyal to a good cause for senior adults, leaders, and Elders to see them as partners in progress they can trust, tutor and carry along in building a better society we can all be proud of together.”
Com. Ayelaagbe was thereafter bestowed with a Merit Award in appreciation of his services.
