In a startling revelation, Thomas Abiodun Olamide, representing the Elegant Nurses Forum, has accused officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ogun State of colluding with elites and wealthy individuals to oppress innocent citizens. Olamide, a staunch advocate for nurses in the Southwest region, disclosed her findings after a visit to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH).
According to Olamide, instead of addressing the reported corruption and criminal activities within the hospital, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) allegedly summoned a female DSS official (Mrs. Yerima) accused of receiving bribes from malevolent actors. Shockingly, rather than investigating the claims, the DSS official purportedly resorted to intimidating and threatening nurses.
Expressing concern over the perceived injustice, Olamide urged Nigerians to resist the collaboration between the DSS and oppressors masquerading as law enforcement agents. She emphasized the detrimental impact of such collusion on the masses and called for solidarity in combating these alleged abuses of power.
Furthermore, Olamide questioned the efficacy of law enforcement agencies in reducing crime rates, asserting that their involvement often exacerbates the plight of the oppressed. She appealed to DSS officials to cease their alleged harassment and victimization of the populace.
In light of these accusations, calls for an independent investigation into the conduct of DSS officials in Ogun State have intensified, with advocates like Olamide demanding accountability and justice for the oppressed nurses of OOUTH.
