Otunba Denny Ibrahim Olusegun OLADIPUPO, Chairman, Iperu Mini Stadium Committee, has described the Akesan Day Celebration as a showcase of the rich socio-cultural heritage of Iperu Akesanland.
Otunba OLADIPUPO stated this while speaking during a chat with pressmen at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School grounds, venue of the 2024 Akesan Day Celebration, held on Saturday, 30th November, 2024.
He described the event as one that is greatly cherished by sons and daughters of Iperu, both at home and in the diaspora, and a gathering that has always brought them together as citizens of Iperu to develop a developmental agenda and chart a positive way forward for Iperu.
The celebration, the 38th edition, according to the Chairman of the Iperu Mini Stadium Committee, has fostered unity and friendliness among the people just as it engendered peaceful coexistence and infrastructural development of the ancient town.
He commended and congratulated the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, on this year’s celebration and for all the achievements recorded under his eventful reign.
Otunba OLADIPUPO also felicitated the Iperu Development Association led by Otunba Taiwo OYEBANJO; the Akesan Day Planning Committee; clubs, associations, groups, and societies; and everyone who participated to make the 2024 edition a huge success.
He was full of praises to the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed TINUBU, for approving the siting and construction of a mini sports arena for Iperu.
Otunba Denny Olusegun OLADIPUPO also appreciated and commended Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON, Governor of Ogun State, for his giant strides as reflected in his various people-oriented projects and programmes scattered across the gateway state.
He concluded with his immense appreciation to all members of the Iperu Mini Stadium Committee, who are all working tirelessly to ensure a successful actualization of the project.
The Chairman, joined by members of the committee gladly received and hosted the team from the Ogun Oshun River Basin Development Authority, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Adedeji ASHIRU, FNSE, who came to celebrate with the people of Iperu Akesanland.
