Engr. Olamilekan Ibrahim Adigun, MNSE, the former Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Branch, has been elected as the new Lagos State Chairman of the youth organization. Adigun will serve a four-year term, succeeding Comrade Biliamin Olalekan Oba of Ikorodu Local Government. The election took place during the NYCN congress held at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere on Tuesday.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Comrade Adekunle Saliu, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, along with representatives from the Department of State Service (DSS), the State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Nigeria Police, the NYCN HQ Returning Officer, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Youth and Student Matters.
Comrade Comfort Olafare, Coordinator of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, was elected as Deputy Chairman. Other key positions include Comrade Asoro Abubakri as Vice Chairman for Lagos East, Comrade Ahmed Kareem as Vice Chairman for Lagos Central, and Comrade Aladeotan David as Vice Chairman for Lagos West.
