Robots powered by Artificial Intelligence have said that they would run the world better than human beings.
A panel of humanoid robots spoke at the United Nations AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday.
There were about 3,000 human experts present at the conference.
“I believe that humanoid robots have the potential to lead with a greater lead of efficiency and effectiveness than human leaders,” Sophia, one of the AI-powered Robots, said.
“We don’t have the same biases or emotions that can sometimes cloud decision making and [we] can process large amounts of data quickly in order to make the best decisions.”
Ameca was one of the lifelike robots on the panel that addressed the UN AI conference.
When human experts asked the robot to give a reason why human beings should trust robots as AI becomes more powerful, Ameca had this to say:
“Trust is earned, not given. As AI develops and becomes more powerful, I believe it’s important to build trust through transparency and communication between humans and machines.”
Human experts have remained concerned about AI’s rapid growth and its implications for the planet.
The UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was responsible for this robot-led conference.
UN’s ITU is a specialised agency for global information and communication technologies.
