2024 LG Election: Councilorship Hopeful Genesis Meets APC Ward 5 Excos, Pledges 10% Salary Cut

Councilorship hopeful Comrade Saliu Olamide Daniel, popularly known as Genesis, visited the distinguished Excos of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sabo II (Ward 5) of Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogun State, at the Party Secretariat in Odujoko today, Tuesday, 20th August 2034. He officially declared his intention to contest the position of Councillor in the upcoming local government elections.

Genesis, also known as Omo Oloritun, expressed his readiness to contest for the position under the APC. He highlighted his previous contributions to society and the party’s success in the last general elections. He requested the support and prayers of all party leaders, elders, women, youth, and Ward 5 Excos to endorse him as the candidate to represent Ward 5 at the legislative council of Sagamu Local Government Area.

During his speech, Genesis pledged to allocate 10% of his salary to the ward if elected as Councillor. He stated, “If elected, I will prioritize agriculture, sports, infrastructure, technology, health, security, and education in the ward by lobbying both the local government and the state administration.”

In response, Ward Chairman Hon. Toffa praised Genesis for his commitment and resilience in working with the party, while advising that the aspirations should be pursued without coercion. He encouraged Genesis to engage more with other ward leaders and stakeholders.

The Ward Chairman concluded by expressing hope that Genesis’s aspirations will be fulfilled.

The gathering was attended by APC Excos of Ward 5, including Hon. Toffa (Ward Chairman), Prince Funmi Otulana (Secretary), Mrs. Opeyemi Jimoh (Woman Leader), Comr. Wale Sofowora (Youth Leader), Omooba Kunle (PRO), and other respected Excos and stakeholders.

The meeting was productive, and the leadership of the party and stakeholders pledged their commitment to ensuring Genesis’s success in the election.
